Synopsis

Home to the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the President’s Cottage is said to have first been constructed in 1820 as a Victorian-styled wooden building. Over the years the structure has undergone various modifications, with the latest being done in 2005. The approximate total building floor area is 17,500 square feet. The President’s Cottage Refurbishment and Outfitting Project involves the re-design of the floor layouts, inclusive of renovations, repair and retrofit, works to create an official residence that is: suitable for a Head of State, caters to the needs of his family, and is functional, safe, structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing.
